Thohoyandou Manchester United deposited a full compliment of points into their league account when they crushed Gaba Union Fighters 4-2 in their Promotional League match that was played at the Thohoyandou Block F grounds on Saturday.

Union Fighters were harmless and hopeless from the onset. That gave the home side time to dictate the terms in the middle of the park. The first 15 minutes were characterized by dangerous tackles. The referee, Steven Mulabo, calmed the situation by flashing two yellow cards in quick succession. Japhta Mulaudzi of Union Fighters and Loshani Sididzha of Manchester United were booked for dangerous play and obstruction respectively.

The hosts found the net in the 24th minute. They were awarded a penalty after Humbelani Mudzunga was brought down within the box. The keeper of Manchester, Prince Mmbengwa, claimed the penalty, saying it was his opportunity to show the rest of the players that he was a "jack of all positions and a master of all". He was allowed to try his luck and he kept his promise indeed.

Loshani Sididzha scored the second goal seven minutes later to bring the half-time score to 2-0. Manchester increased the tally four minutes into the last stanza via Dakalo Muzhelele, who blasted in a rocket after a rebound. They were awarded another penalty after Humbelani Mudzunga was tackled illegally within the box.

Mudzunga woke up and made it 4-0 from the white spot. Union Fighters took the game to the home side soon afterwards. They were rewarded by a goal that came via Ntshinyadzeni Mualudzi in the 78th minute. Japhta Mulaudzi scored the second later in the game.
