The P & L Hardware Cycling Club, organisers of the Kremetart and Akkedis Cycle Races, together with the Reach for a Dream Foundation, a charity organisation that is looking after children with life-threatening diseases, is presently undertaking a cycling tour from Beit Bridge to Cape Town.

A total of 30 enthusiastic cyclists are taking part in the 21-day tour and they will do an average of 100km per day. At each overnight point, they will raise money for the charity involved. The cyclists will arrive in Cape Town after approximately 2 100km, two days before the Cape Argus Cycle Race. After two days´ rest, they will take part in the famous annual event next month.

On behalf of the mayor of Musina Municipality, Cllr Gabriel Ramushwana handed a letter of greeting to the cyclists. The letter will be handed to the mayor of Cape Town, Cllr Helen Zille, at a special ceremony when the cyclists arrive in Cape Town.

Ramushwana told the cyclists: "Dreams have often proved to be a great blessing to humankind - the future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams. We also have a dream that the tour will bring hope and healing to countless young South Africans with life-threatening illnesses, through the money raised for charity. I would like to wish good luck to the 30 cyclists who have put everything aside to pledge their loyalty to the well-being of our children. I have no doubt that the cyclists will arrive safely in Cape Town and I further wish them good luck in the Cape Argus Cycle Race. Keeping our minds and bodies active is probably a factor in our longevity."
