Most of the teams affiliated with the Limpopo Stream of the ABC Motsepe League will play their penultimate league matches of the season this weekend. All eyes will be on the clash between Vondwe XI Bullets and Winners Park at Makonde Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
Should they manage to beat Winners Park, Bullets will be all but assured of a place in the promotional playoffs. They are in high spirits after beating United Artists 1-0 at Makhuvha Stadium last Saturday. Winners Park, on the other hand, are fast becoming a force to be reckoned with. Although they had a poor start to the season, they have been collecting maximum points both at home and away in recent weeks, moving several places up the log, thanks to a string of superb performances.
Mpheni Defenders will visit United Artists at Makhuvha Stadium. United Artists have only pride to play for as they are safe from relegation. Defenders will pin their hopes on the likes of Lufuno Mulaudzi, Rophney Hlongwane and Gift Nemutandani for goals.
Should Defenders fail to beat Artists, Vondwe XI Bullets will have even more reason to celebrate. The promotion race is now effectively a two-horse contest between Defenders and Bullets.
Musina United will be away to Tlhotlhokwe Golden Syrup at Lulekani Stadium in Phalaborwa. White Vultures will host Maruleng Celtic at the Selwane Grounds outside Phalaborwa, while Munaca FC will try their luck against Tzaneen United at the Nkowankowa Stadium in Tzaneen. Black Leopards will enjoy home-ground advantage in their match against Nkowankowa Continentals at the Polokwane Training Centre Grounds.
Other fixtures include City Motors vs Mighty FC, Mokopane PJ Stars vs Eleven Fast Tigers, Sunrise FC vs The Dolphins FC, Royal Pirates vs Tubatse United, and Mohlabile United vs Lebash Football Academy.
