This weekend marks the start of the Sasol Women’s League programme for the 2025/26 soccer season. Six matches will be played on Saturday afternoon, with the remaining two scheduled for Sunday.

The rookies, Univen FC, will begin their campaign with an away match against Sisters FC at the Nwamitwa Grounds outside Tzaneen. Sisters finished among the top three teams last season, giving Univen every reason to brace for a tough encounter.

Masakona Liberty Experience are preparing for a stern test when they host Tshandama Young Stars at the Masakona Grounds. A glance at the head-to-head record between the two teams suggests that beating Liberty Experience will not be an easy task for Young Stars.

Real Mighty Ladies will consider themselves fortunate if they manage to secure a point from their home match against Sinthumulekutama FC at the Xikukwani Stadium outside Giyani. Sinthumulekutama are the reigning champions, though they fell short of promotion in the provincial playoffs.

Rodadau FC will open their season at home against Sealene Ladies at the Tshitungulwane Grounds in the Vuwani area. Rodadau were among the title contenders last season. Maindis Ladies will be away to take on Farm Girls Ladies at the Mahwelereng Stadium in Mokopane, while newcomers Toronto Ladies will travel to face Ramatlaohle Ladies at the Lebowakgomo Grounds.

On Sunday, Marumo Gallants Development will take on University of Limpopo Ladies. The final match of the opening weekend will see Kanatla Ladies face off against Golden Diamonds Ladies at the Jane Furse Stadium in Sekhukhune.
