Most teams competing in the Limpopo Stream of the Sasol Women’s League will play their final first-round fixtures this weekend.
After a historic 7-1 demolition of Tshandama Young Stars at the Tshandama Grounds last Saturday, Sinthumulekutama FC will be on the road again this weekend. They will travel to Phalaborwa to face Sealene Ladies at the Sealene Grounds on Saturday.
Sinthumulekutama will have only themselves to blame if they fail to score at least five goals against Sealene. The Phalaborwa side have managed just one win from seven league matches so far. They were beaten 4-2 by Univen FC at the Univen Stadium last Saturday.
By contrast, Sinthumulekutama are sitting comfortably at the top of the log with 18 points from six matches. They have yet to drop a point. Sealene will need to double their efforts if they are to stop the likes of Judy Baloyi and the team’s diminutive striker, Zwavhudi Musetha.
Whether Sisters FC will pay the price for Lacoste Morning Stars’ 2-0 loss to Masakona Liberty Experience last Saturday remains to be seen when the sides meet at the Shayandima School Grounds. Should Morning Stars fail to collect maximum points, their hopes of winning the league title this season will take a major blow.
Rodadau will host Tshandama Young Stars at the Tshitungulwane Grounds outside Vuwani. Univen FC will travel to the Xikukwani Stadium near Giyani to face Real Mighty Ladies, who were held to a 1-1 draw by Sisters FC at the Nwamitwa Grounds outside Tzaneen.
Other fixtures are Toronto Ladies vs University of Limpopo, and Ramatlaohle Ladies vs Golden Diamond Ladies.
