After crushing Kruger United 3-0 at Thohoyandou Stadium last Saturday, Black Leopards are ready to strike again when they meet Milford FC in their Motsepe Foundation Championship League match at Princess Magogo Stadium in Durban on Friday afternoon.

Although beating Milford in front of their home crowd would be a dream for Leopards, the team’s head coach, Joel Masutha, has predicted a victory.

Masutha said he had told the players during training sessions that they must win as many of their remaining matches as possible to repair the damage caused by the transfer ban imposed on the club by FIFA at the beginning of the season. Expressing his optimism, Masutha said they were going to Durban with one thing in mind: to beat Milford and revive the team’s hopes of promotion.

Milford dropped from the top of the log to second place after a 3-3 draw with Upington City at Mxolisi Dicky Jacobs Stadium in Upington last Saturday.

Thokozani Hlubi, Leopards’ midfielder, is a doubtful starter after being taken off the pitch on a stretcher with a knee injury in their game against Kruger United. Should Hlubi fail to pass the team’s late fitness test, Pfunzo Ramunasi and Goodman Chirwa are expected to step in.

Leopards will face the other Durban-based side, Midlands Wanderers, at Thohoyandou Stadium next Wednesday, 29 October.

Midlands Wanderers will play Venda Football Club at the same venue on Sunday, before their match against Black Leopards next Wednesday.

Other weekend fixtures are Cape Town City vs The Bees FC, Highbury vs Casric Stars, Hungry Lions vs Baroka FC, Lerumo Lions vs Leicesterford City, and University of Pretoria FC vs Upington City.
