Raluswielo High was crowned as the new champions of Coca-Cola Inter-Secondary Cup when they beat Dimbanyika High 3-2 in the final match at Tshifulanani Stadium on Saturday.
The match started at a fast pace, with both sides threatening to be the first to hit the target. Raluswielo opened the scoring in the 11th minute when Dimbanyika’s keeper, Phumudzo Mphephu, was robbed of the ball by Thivhulawi Netshituni and fired home for Raluswielo to lead.
Dimbanyika missed a fortune in the 15th minute, when a header by Rofhiwa Ramatshimbila went a little wider, after a neat pass from Thabelo Muofhe.
The match turned lukewarm towards the end of the first half. This was influenced by the fact that both sides were holding on the ball for too long.
Dimbayika equalized at the end of the first half. Ronald Muleya sent a neat pass from Oscar Mugodo and released a powerful shot from the edge of the box to bring the half time score to 1-1.
In the second half, the match flowed at a high pace and both teams’ strikers missed the target. In the 65th minute Emmanuel Mathobo grabbed his second goal, after he headed in a free kick taken by Mpho Mmbara. Dimbayika equalized when Roshuma Siphologo tried his luck from outside the box.
