Last weekend saw the affiliates for the National First Division (NFD) play the last matches of their first-round fixtures. It was another shameful weekend for the Giyani-based Dynamos, as they once again gave away significant league points.
They were beaten 0-2 by Jomo Cosmos at the Vaal University of Technology Stadium in Johannesburg. The result pushed Ri khomeni ri nga peli deeper into the relegation quagmire. They are lying at the bottom of the log, with four points gained from seven matches.
The only time they registered a win was when they beat Witbank Spurs 2-1 at the Nkowankowa Stadium last month, while their only draw was against Black Leopards (2-2).
Witbank Spurs are the second last on the log, three points ahead of Dynamos.
The University of Pretoria are shining on top of the log with 14 points. This follows their 1-0 win over Black Leopards at the Malamulele Stadium last Sunday. Amatuks, as they are affectionately called, are tied with Jomo Cosmos, with the same number of points.
Black Leopards are lying in fifth position with 9 points. They must win their next match against FCAK to remain in the contest for the league championship.
Ikapa Sporting are the current log leaders in the Coastal Stream of the NFD. They have deposited 14 points into their league account so far. The newly promoted Carara Kicks, who have been leading the pack for the past four weeks, are in the second spot, a point behind. Nathi Lions are at the bottom of the log with four points.
