Tshifulanani Stadium is expected to be packed to capacity tomorrow afternoon. That is where the long-awaited National First Division match between Black Leopards and Jomo Cosmos will take place. Leopards’ brand manager, Tshifhiwa Thidiela, was quick to mention that they will not disappoint their supporters like they did last Saturday.
He was referring to what happened in their match against Dynamos, which was played at the same venue, when Leopards allowed the visitors from Giyani to come back from a 0-2 deficit and held them to a 3-3 draw. He reiterated the fact that they want to win the match and remain in the contest for the league championship.
Cosmos are currently lying in the second spot on the log with Pretoria University on top, while Leopards are in the fourth position. Leopard and Cosmos are separated by a gap of five points. The local lads will be fighting it in the absence of their demon midfielder, Christopher Netshidzivhe who sustained a serious knee injury in their game against Dynamos last Saturday.
Thidiela stated that apart from the fact that they will give away some fabulous prizes during the match, a number of local music artists including Colbert Mukwevho will entertain the fans before the game and during half time. The scheduled kick-off time is 15:30.
In the other National First Division matches for the Inland Stream, Mpumalanga Black Aces will see the coming of the pace setters, Pretoria University at the Ackerville Stadium in Witbank. FCAK will host Witbank Spurs at the Elderado Park Stadium in Johannesburg.
Winners Park, who are still mourning their 0-4 defeat at the hands of Pretoria University last weekend, are expected to make Dynamos pay for the pains they suffered when they meet at the Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane on Sunday afternoon.
In the Coastal Stream, Durban Stars will play against Nathi Lions at the Chartsworth Stadium in Durban. The other Coastal Stream weekend fixtures are: Ikapa Sporting vs Carara Kicks, African Warriors vs Hanover Park and Vasco Da Gama vs FC Cape Town.
