In their National First Division League match that was played at the Tshifulanani Stadium on Saturday, Dynamos and Black Leopards shared the spoils, following their thrilling 3-3 draw. Black Leopards were two goals ahead in the first 15 minutes.
The Thohoyandou outfit approached the game like men possessed, with the visitors from Giyani chasing the action. Their efforts did not pass without reward. Their diminutive striker, Thabo Mongalo, headed home in the fifth minute after a scramble within the box.
Dynamos, or Ri khomeni ri nga peli as they are affectionately called, lost shape in the middle of the park. Leopards capitalized on the setback and increased the tally 10 minutes thereafter. Walter Ramulondi won the ball outside the box and beat the Dynamos’ keeper with a ground cutter.
Dynamos rectified their mistakes and took the game to the opponents soon afterwards. They reduced the margin through Joseph Mthombeni in the 24th minute. He beat the Leopards’ keeper, Ephraim Tjihonge, with a volley.
Dynamos effected the first change to their starting line-up when the game was 30 minutes old. They introduced Solomon Nketle for Allan Kamanga, who was looking weary from the onset. A defender of Leopards, Isaac Marobe, caused an upset when he missed the ball outside the box. Patrick Apakati, who was in a perfect scoring position, gave the Leopards’ keeper no chance.
Dynamos took the lead in the 37th minute. Gerald Modabi caught the keeper of Lidoda duvha off guard and sent in a rocket from close range. The home side levelled matters three minutes before the end of the first half. Their Malawian international, Robert Ngambi, scored with a header after a corner kick to bring the half-time score to 3-3.
The last half saw both sides creating and squandering scoring chances. What should have been Leopards’ winning goal turned into a nightmare when Walter Ramulondi broke loose from the centre of the pitch in the 78th minute. The Dynamos’ keeper, Swadick Sanudi, stretched to the limit to make a brilliant save.
