Dynamos too strong for Supersport United

PRETORIA - After going 11 matches with no win, Dynamos fought hard to earn their 3-1 victory over Supersport United in the Castle Premiership League match that was played at the Loftus Stadium in Pretoria on Sunday. The game saw the Dynamos Zimbabwean international, Adam Ndlovu, hitting the net twice.

It was evident from the start that the Limpopo outfit was going to win the game, as they were dictating the terms in all departments. It was in the 11th minute when their midfielder-cum-striker, Joel Seroba, opened the score, after a pass by Siphiwe Mbambo, to give his side the lead.

The homeside did not give in without a fight, as they continued to push forward in an attempt to equalize, but they found the Dynamos defence, marshaled by Gerald Mtshali and Gerald Raphahlele, uncompromising. Supersport realized that it was not their day when Dynamos increased the tally in the 18th minute.

Adam Ndlovu made his presence felt, after receiving a pass from Joel Seroba, and released a ground cutter that left the United goalkeeper, Calvin Marlin, rooted to the turf. The team from Giyani maintained their 2-0 leadership until the end of the first half.

United pulled one back nine minutes into the last stanza. Daniel Matsau penetrated the Dynamos defence and unleashed a powerful shot that saw the Dynamos keeper, Aime Kitenge, diving in the opposite direction. Adam Ndlovu came into the picture again two minutes before full time.

His well-struck shot easily hit the back of the net as the United keeper, Calvin Marlin, was caught off guard. Dynamos will fight for league points against Black Leopards, in their long-awaited match that will be played at the Thohoyandou Stadium on Sunday, January 4, 2004
