Nzhelele Young All Nations are the overall champions for the Makhado Local Football Association. They beat Vyeboom Barcelona 6-5 in the final for their champ of champs match at the Tshipakoni School grounds on Sunday.
All Nations stood against all the odds to take the trophy to the Nzhelele Valley as their hands were tied behind their backs for the better part of the game. Their centre forward, Tertia Maanda, was given his marching orders when the game was 14 minutes old.
Maanda was warned with a card in the 7th minute. Instead of playing a clean game afterwards, Maanda continued to display his rough skills. The offence that led to his dismissal was an obstruction on Norman Tshikosi.
Barcelona failed to capitalize on the setback. Instead of adding an extra striker, Barcelona continued to use a defensive pattern. All Nations did not panic, despite all the odds. Their midfielders excelled when it came to the distribution of dangerous passes to their goal poachers. They finally found the net through Tshifhiwa Mulaudzi, nine minutes into the second half. He blasted in a rocket, following a scramble within the box.
Barcelona found the equalizer later in the game. Ronald Ndou scored from an arguably offside position in the 84th minute. The score was 1-1 at the end of the regulated time and as such the winner was determined through penalty shootout. All Nations converted five while Barcelona scored only four.
Nzhelele Young All Nations were presented with a floating trophy after the game.
