GIYANI – The Wits University goalkeeper, Wayne Roberts, conceded his first goal of the season in 11 matches, in their PSL league match against Dynamos on Sunday. The match finished in a 1-1 draw.

The result of the match means that Dynamos have now gone 11 league matches without a win. However, if a soccer match were won through the number of scoring chances a team creates, the Dynamos would have won the match convincingly.

Helder Muinga, the former Black Leopards marksman, was booked by the referee, Walter Machubela, for a late tackle on the Wits midfielder, Benson Mhlongo, in the 11th minute.

The Limpopo side were the first to blow the trumpet. The goal that earned them a point came in the 15th minute. Joel Seroba received a beautiful pass from David Mathebelula, forced his way through the Wits defence and unleashed a ground cutter. The Wits keeper, Wayne Roberts, mishandled the ball and Seroba finished on a rebound. Dynamos enjoyed their leadership until the end of the first half.

The visitors' left back, Ashley Makhanya, and the Dynamos' keeper, Aime Kitenge, were reprimanded with cards early in the second half for rough tackling and time-wasting tricks respectively. The clever students found the equalizer in the 70th minute. Their Zimbabwean killer striker, Alois Bunjira, beat the Dynamos keeper with a close-range shot, after receiving a pass from Ivan Winstanely.

Dynamos introduced Alex Bapela for Adam Majola late in the game. However, it did not have an influence on the outcome of the match and the referee's whistle marked another disappointing end for Dynamos.
