Vodacom League referees’ panel released

Sport  Date: 31 July 2009

After weeks of waiting, a full list of match officials who will officiate in the Vodacom Promotional League and Sasol League in the 2009/10 season was finally released early this week.

According to the referees’ inspector in the Vhembe Region, Mr Ephraim Singo, the delay in releasing the list was influenced by the fact that they were still conducting fitness tests until late last week.

Singo further indicated that what impressed him most was the fact that the referees who had made it to the final list are still young and energetic. According to him, most of the referees who were part of the panel during the past seasons did not make the grade during the fitness tests.
