Soccer lovers around Hlanganani and surrounding areas will soon be able to watch Vodacom Promotional League matches on their doorstep. This follows the decision by the managing director of Nobela All Stars, Mr Ally Nobela, to buy the Vodacom status from Lephalale Young Cosmos. The team has been based in Lephalale since its inception in the early nineties.
According to the technical manager of the team, Mr Don Maluleke, the reason behind buying the team is to develop young players. He said in the Hlanganani area there is a lot of talent, as Kaizer Chiefs kingpin David Mathebula is hailing from this area. Maluleke said he wanted to produce more players who can play for any elite league team.
Nobela is also the owner of the Safa Vhembe promotional team Nobela All Stars, who play in Stream E.
He stated that he had more confidence in the people of Hlanganani, that they would take his team to the highest level of football in the country within a reasonable period. The team will use the Vleifontein Stadium as their home ground.
Mr Tinyiko Maluleke has been appointed head coach of the team. The team will start training after the World Cup and they will use Bungeni or Waterval Stadium as training ground. Maluleke said his team would play several matches before the league resumed and appealed to players around Vhembe who are interested to play to come for trials on July 13, or to call him for more information at 083 890 5008.
Vhembe will have three teams play under the auspices of Safa Vodacom Limpopo, namely Limpopo United, All Nation Shining Stars and Nobela All Stars.
