A well-traveled coach, Mr Eddy Masia, recently rejoined the newly promoted Vodacom Limpopo league team, Maniini All Blacks, as head coach.

Masia coached Blacks when they were campaigning in the Safa Vhembe SAB league in 2008/9 soccer season and the team ended in third position. early this year he was approached by the management of All Nation Shining Stars after they had bought the Vodacom side from the familly of former Platinum Stars boss Joseph “Tycoon” Mapfulangatsha.

He coached Stars and led the team into second position until he parted ways with them when they were left with just a few matches left.

Speaking to Mirror earlier this week, Masia mentioned that his appointment would bear fruit sooner than expected. He revealed that one of his strategic objectives was to produce players who would be able to perform well in the PSL. He said that he had already produced many players who played in Absa Premiership sides, like of Luvhengo Mungomeni of Mamelodi Sundowns and the South African U/17 coach, Solly Luvhengo.

His coaching career started in 1990, when he was appointed the head coach for Shayandima Stars FC. He moved to SAFA Vhembe, when it was still called Northern Province East Region, and coached U/12´s and the U/17 regional squad in 1992, and worked as a coach for two years. He was appointed assistant coach of Mapate Silver Stars FC in 1995, working with coach Owen da Gama, currently the coach Platinum Stars.

He is equipped with a Level 1coaching certificate.
