Although Black Leopards are out of the league title race, they still have something to be proud of. Their speedy forward, Rodney Ramagalela, is the current leading goal scorer in the National First Division (NFD).
Ramagalela has been banging in goals both home and away over the past weeks. The only goal which his side managed to score when they lost 1-2 to FC AK at the Tshifulanani Stadium last Saturday was also registered in his name. Ramagalela has scored nine goals to date. He is followed by Joshua Souls of FC AK with eight.
Souls’ eighth goal was scored against Black Leopards at the Tshifulanani Stadium last Saturday. Tiyiseka Mathonsi of Batau has scored seven goals to date. Two players, Taongo Dondo of Dynamos and Souleyman Diabate of Jomo Cosmos, have scored six goals each. They are followed by Joseph Mthombeni (University of Pretoria) with five.
Atusaye Nyondo of Carara Kicks is leading the pack in the Coastal Stream, with 8 goals. The other top scorers are Peter Wadabwa (Thanda Royal Zulu) with seven, Joseph Lekata (FC Cape Town), Petrus Mahatsi (Blackburn Rovers) and Glen Segobela (Bay United) with five, and Ashley Hartog (FC Cape Town), Siyabonga Nontshinga (Bay United), Darren Dicks (FC Cape Town), Joseph Makume (African Warriors), Wiseman Mdluli (Thanda Royal Zulu) and Phumudzo Manenzhe (Thanda Royal Zulu) have scored four goals each.
