Masha new champion of Musangwe

Masha "Thirty" Magwabeni was crowned as the new champion of the indigenous Musangwe boxing tournament, which was staged at the Makonde Stadium on Saturday.

Masha went home with R4 000.

Several fights were seen before the start of the championship fights. The tournament was sponsored by the MD of JTK Entertaiment, Mr Jonny Khubana, to the tune of R20 000.

Avhasei ”Golomo” lost to Masha in the championship bout and he received R3 500.

Lawrence "Wrong Turn” Randima showed his supporters that he was not roaring for nothing, when he convincingly beat the 2009 champion, Cybok Madala. Cybok received R1 000 and Wrong Turn R1 500.

In the fight between Khodani "Big Show" Khomola and Elekanyani Shonisani, Elekanyani was declared the winner, after it was realised that “Big Show” was applying dirty tricks.

The most entertaining fight was between Swole Mbedzi and Thuso “Ngwazi” Ramukakati. Swole was declared the winner. In the junior catergory, Pfunzo Mbedzi and Mbulungeni Mudau were the first to enter the ring.The referee was forced to stop the fight in a bid to save Mbedzi’s life.
