It was sweet revenge for the Gauteng Indigenous Boxing Musangwe team, when they beat the Limpopo team at the Tshiawelo Phuthalushaka Primary grounds on Saturday.

Thirty bouts took place in the senior categories. Several non-title fights were also seen before the start of the championship fights.

In the senior category, Avhasei”Golomo” and Thikhathali Libunyu were the first to enter the ring. The referee was forced to stop the fight in a bid to save Golomo’s life. Golomo’s nose was bleeding profusely when the fight was stopped.

When Emmanuel “Owner" Nemakonde started roaring inside the ring, Gumai” Zero” Manyatsha was the first to challenge him. Owner showed his supporters that he was not roaring for nothing, when he convincingly beat Zero, who did not hesitate to raise his hand as a way to accept defeat.

The next fight was between Ntaka ”Cybok” Madala and Abraham “The General” Rabali. Rabali was declared the winner, after it was realised that Cybok was applying dirty tricks.

The most entertaining fight was between Foster Chauke and Thuso "Ngwazi” Ramukakati. Ngwazi was declared the winner after Foster started to employ time-wasting tactics. The fight between Thendo Randima and Talusani Mabada was declared a draw.

Avhakholwi “Lion” Munyai was beaten by Mulanga Mabuke of Gauteng, while Lawrence “Wrong Turn” Randima was all over his opponent, Murendeni Netshiozwi. Thivhusiwi “Nohury” Musandiwa lost to Khodani Nephalama.

The winning team, Gauteng, went home with R15 000, while Limpopo collected R10 000. The two junior teams shared R5 000.

The sponsor,Mr Johnny Khubana of JTK Entertaiment, said he is happy with the attendance of the Gauteng-based people who came in large numbers to support the indigenous boxing.
