With only two matches remaining before the affiliates for the National First Division (NFD) wrap up their league activities, it is still not clear as to which team will join Jomo Cosmos in the promotional play-offs. Cosmos have already been declared the Inland Stream league champions, despite the fact that they still have two matches to play.

Cosmos are leading the pack with 41 points, seven ahead of the second-placed University of Pretoria. Even if Amatuks win their remaining two matches, with Cosmos donating league points to their opponents, they will still win the league by one point.

The two teams which are in the hot race to finish in the second position are Black Leopards and University of Pretoria. Leopards and the Tukkies students are only separated by one point.

A look at the remaining two matches for Black Leopards and University of Pretoria shows that Black Leopards stand a good chance. Their remaining two matches are against Dynamos and United FC. Their match against Dynamos will be played at the Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane tomorrow afternoon. They will travel to Kimberley next Saturday, where they will play their last match against United FC at the De Beers Stadium. Both Dynamos and United FC are languishing at the bottom of the log.

University of Pretoria have a mountain to climb. Their remaining two matches are against Witbank Spurs and FC AK, Their match against Witbank Spurs will be played at the Puma Rugby Stadium in Witbank tomorrow. Their last match will be against FC AK at the Absa Tuks Stadium in Pretoria next Saturday. Witbank Spurs and FC AK are in top form of late, and collecting the maximum points in the two matches will not be an easy task for Tuks.
