Makhitha Masters hammered Ravele Highlanders 5-3 in a Limpopo Dairy league match that was played at the Ravele grounds on Sunday.

Masters showed a spirit of commitment from the onset, with their midfielders creating chances for their striking force. Ambani Ralintho received a well-cooked pass from Deshin Monyelote and hesitated for too long until one of the defenders of Highlanders poached the ball. The Highlanders squandered a chance in the 17th minute, when Mandiwana Budeli caused an upset by shooting aimlessly from the goal mouth. Vincent Makgopo of Masters committed a similar blunder moments later.

The boys from Makhitha were dictating terms in all departments and their midfielder-cum-striker, Livhuwani Mboredzhi, was booked for wasting time in 24th minute. Highlanders were by far the better team in as far as ball possession was concerned.

Omish Mudzunga of Masters opened the score after he beat several defenders and scored easily. Their celebration was cut short when the local boys were awarded a penalty and Rofhiwa Makhovha scored from the white spot. Maclody Musitha of Masters increased the margin from the 18m-area in the 43rd minute, making the half-time score 2-1 for Masters.

The visiting side´s keeper, Vhulahani Ratshivhungula, made countless breathtaking saves, bringing stability to his team. In the 66th minute, Steven Sadiki received a pass from the centre line. He pretend that he wanted to dish out a pass to the advancing Takalani Rambuda, but kept the ball, beat the defence and released a hard shot into the net.

Cassius Mahafha was reprimanded in the 78th minute. He tackled Rotshidzwa Rambau from behind and the referee was lenient enough to let him go with yellow card.

Omish Mudzunga completed his brace and scored the fourth goal of his team. A defender of the visitors then passed the ball to his opponent, Rofhiwa Makhovha, to score easily.

Masters scored their fifth goal through Maclody Musitha, five minutes before the end of the match and Tondani Masindi scored his team´s third goal in the dying minute.
