GIYANI – Dynamos once again failed to collect full points at home when they shared the spoils with Jomo Cosmos in their Castle Premiership League match that was played at the Giyani Stadium on Sunday. The scoreboard was still asking for numbers when the referee, Harry Lekitjane, blew the final whistle.
As usual, the Limpopo outfit wasted countless scoring opportunities in the opening minutes. Their diminutive striker, David Mathebula, caused an upset by shooting wide, with only the Cosmos keeper, Avril Phadi, to beat. At that stage the game was seven minutes old.
The Dynamos keeper, Aime Kitenge, made his presence felt when he saved what everyone thought was a sure goal four minutes thereafter. The Cosmos Mozambican international, Manuel Bucuane, went loose from the far right corner and unleashed a groundcutter that saw Kitenge stretching to the limit to palm the ball away for a corner kick.
Dynamos were the first to effect a change to their original team. They introduced Thomas Ledingwane at the expense of their injured Zimbabwean international, Adam Ndlovu, in the 55th minute. Andrew "Jaws of life" Rabutla went into the referee's book a little later. He tackled Thomas Ledingwane from behind and was lucky not to see red.
The homeside's technical staff later replaced Josam Ndou and Adam Majola with Norman Mkhabela and Joel Seroba respectively. Helder Muinga, the Dynamos midfielder, tackled Andrew Rabutla roughly and he was cautioned for that.
Cosmos came back strongly in the dying minutes, forcing the Dynamos keeper to commit a silly mistake by handling a back pass from Lifa Qosha. The referee awarded a direct free kick to Cosmos. The result of the match means that Dynamos have gone eight league matches
