Vhudimbilu Road Block registered a 3-2 victory over Dumasi All Stars in their Thulamela Local Football Association League match that was played at the Vhudimbilu grounds on Sunday.
Road Block refused to let their home crowd down as they approached the game aggressively. They were unlucky not to score within the first 10 minutes, after creating numerous scoring chances.
It was in the 18th minute that the home side opened their account. Jacon Ramudzuli unleashed a volley from the right corner and the keeper of All Stars, Ndivhuwo Mafune, watched helplessly as the ball hit the back of the net. Road Block enjoyed their leadership until the end of the first half.
The referee, Lucky Thahale, flashed the first yellow card in the 54th minute. Patrick Mulaudzi of All Stars obstructed Ezani Ndou of Road Block and the referee was quick to produce yellow.
Dumasi All Stars fought like a team until they were awarded a penalty in the 64th minute. Their overlapping defender, Rofhiwa Ndou, was brought down within the box. Their keeper, Ndivhuwo Mafune, scored from the penalty spot to make it 1-1. The players of Road Block were not happy with the referee’s decision and they confronted him angrily. The situation came back to normal after one of them, Meshack Kone, was reprimanded with a card. That, however, did not kill their fighting spirit.
They increased the tally soon afterwards when Carthbeth Mudau beat the keeper with a long drive from outside the box. Livhuwani Makungo of All Stars was also cautioned for a late tackle on Vuledzani Kone. Itani Makhado scored the third in the 78th minute. All Stars pulled one back via Mashudu Muthabeni later in the game.
