Eltivilas Primary was crowned champions after winning the Soutpansberg East Volleyball Tournament, which was held at the Soutpansberg Primary School sports grounds last Saturday.

The team played against Petamukanda Primary in the finals of the tournament and won 25 - 22. This was a very tough match. Seven primary schools participated in the tournament that started last Wednesday. The schools are Louis Trichardt, Soutpansberg, Murunwa Combined, Petamukanda, Emmanuel Christian School, Eltivillas and Nndwakhulu.

The tournament was first initiated by Soutpansberg Primary in 2009.

According to the secretary of the Soutpansberg East Circuit Volleyball Committee, Mr Edward Ndouvhada, he is very happy to that volleyball is growing fast. He urged all the teams to start preparing for the next season now.

The winning teams received medals and trophies during the prize-giving ceremony. Mr Walter Matamela, a teacher and volleyball coach at Eltivillas, said that dedication and commitment were the secret behind their victory.
