Damani Powerlines beat Mbaleni Happy Boys 8-7 to book a place in the final of the MTG and PIB KO competition at the Hamakhuvha grounds on Saturday.

Happy Boys were the first to draw blood. Their speedy forward, Maanda Mulaudzi, beat the offside trap and scored with a half volley in the 9th minute.

The referee, Christopher Mugeri, reprimanded Rotondwa Kutame of Happy Boys with a card in the 14th minute. Powerlines continued to fight until they were rewarded with a goal in the 34th minute. They were awarded a place kick outside the box. Thabelo Tshiambo scored with a header to bring the half-time score to 1-1.

Tshiambo was also cautioned with a card for obstruction on Martin Tshitahe early in the second half. Powerlines were strongly on the attack throughout the second half. They could have scored at least three goals while Happy Boys were still confused, but instead they squandered numerous scoring opportunities.

They took the lead in the 67th minute. Thabelo Tshiambo capitalized on a clearing error by Happy Boys and blasted in a close-range rocket. Happy Boys scored the equalizer via Takalani Munasi late in the game.

Extra time was added, but no team managed to score and the winner was ultimately determined through a penalty shoot-out.

Happy Boys managed to convert five through Killer Tshisikule, Given Mufamadi, Masala Sihadi, Maanda Mulaudzi and the keeper, Shudufhadzo Mbedzi, while Powerlines scored via Zwivhuwa Tshiphamela, Jim Nambo, Thabelo Tshiambo, Tsiruwani Dzialwa, Ndivhuwo Sieda and Rialivhuwa Phalanndwa.
