KSP Young Stars secured a place in the SAB League. This follows their 8-6 victor over Omega Line in their promotional play-off match at the Makwarela Stadium on Sunday.
Young Stars made their intentions clear from the onset. Their overlapping midfielder, Victor Ndou, was on target when the game was only 14 minutes old. He caught the keeper of Omega, Mulanga Mugwena, napping and beat him with a volley.
Omega came back strongly soon afterwards. They scored three goals in quick succession. Mashudu Ligunuba scored the equaliser after a scramble within the box. A defender of Young Stars handled the ball within the box and the referee, Eric Munyai, awarded a penalty to Omega. Mashudu Ligunuba scored from the penalty spot to make it 2-1. The score was 3-1 at half time. Lusani Mukondeleli headed home three minutes before the break, after a corner kick that was taken by Thivhulawi Rangolo.
The second half saw Young Stars pushing hard in search of goals. Their efforts paid off when Patrick Ramantswana, Mishumo Ramusethele and Ronewa Tshibvumo scored in the 56th, 59th and 64th minute respectively, to give Young Stars a 4-3 lead.
Omega found the equalizer through Abraham Madevha late in the game. The winner was determined through penalty shootout. Young Stars scored four via Victor Ndou, Aubrey Phaswana, Ronewa Tshibvumo and Takalani Davhula, while Omega converted only two.
