In their Davhana Soccer Tournament match that was decided at the Vuwani Mandani grounds on Sunday, Rockers FC, formerly known as Tshifhire Northern Brothers, gave Ravele Baroka a free soccer lesson when they crushed them 5-1.
Rockers left nothing to chance as they started the game with the cream of their players. Baroka committed suicide by demonstrating rough tackles from the onset. The referee, Calvin Nemavhola, refused to let them go unpunished. He reprimanded Ndivhuwo Mandiwana of Baroka with a card in the 14th minute, following a bad tackle on Khakhu Tshidade.
Rockers were leading 1-0 when the referee blew the half-time whistle. Their opening goal was scored by Tsie Ramano.
Baroka were reduced to 10 men when Ndivhuwo Mandiwana saw red, following a late tackle on Edgar Molewa in the 40th minute. Molewa, who scored a hat trick in the game, caused an upset in the 49th minute. He shot wide after beating the defence.
His fans, however, forgave him when he scored his team’s second goal moments thereafter. He scored again while the fans were still celebrating his first goal, bringing the score to 3-0.
Baroka’s solitary goal came in the 67th minute. Lloyd Sikhwari was on target, following a scramble within the box.
Baroka replaced Dakalo Mukhavhuli and Thembo Rathumbu with Lutendo Mahani and Lucky Nonga respectively. Mitre Sigeda and Edgar Molewa scored the last two goals late in the game.
