Although Tshipako Hotspurs were the first to score, they finally lost 1-4 to Tshatshingo Potholes in their Munyamela Soccer Tournament match at the Muhuyu grounds on Saturday, 31 July.

The referee flashed his first yellow card in the eighth minute. Mpho Mafumakose of Hotspurs handled the ball intentionally and he was lucky to escape with yellow. Hotspurs were the superiors in terms of ball possession during the first 20 minutes.

Their solitary goal came when the game was 12 minutes old. Phathutshedzo Matshusa was on target after dual moves with Sipho Netshiunda. Hotspurs enjoyed their 1-0 lead until the proceedings for the first half came to an end.

The second half saw Potholes initiating some promising moves from behind. Their killer-striker, Zwophethea Singo, was brought down by Mpho Mafumakose within the penalty box and the referee awarded a penalty. Mafumakose was given his marching orders before the penalty was taken. Sathiel Rembuluwani converted from the spot to make it 1-1.

Potholes were also reduced to ten men soon afterwards. Their keeper, Fhulufhelo Netshidzivhe, hit a player of Hotspurs with a fist and he saw red.

Potholes scored three goals in quick succession. Their second and third goal were scored by Nakisani Netshilungwi and Zwophethea Singo in the 67th and 69th minute respectively. Hotspurs lost hope and they were punished for that. Potholes scored again three minutes before the final whistle.
