Black Leopards players display the new soccer kit which will be used this soccer season.

'Leopards must not fire coaches this time'

After returning to the Premier League two months ago, Black Leopards held a congragulatory gala dinner at Meropa Casino in Polokwane last Tuesday evening, 9 August.

During the event, seven new players were introduced. “We are here to stay in the elite league," said Black Leopards´ chairperson, Mr David Thidiela. “Im convinced that we have a team that will compete with success in the Premier League.”Our aim is to start the league on a high note by collecting maximum points in our first matches,” Thidiela said.

Limpopo Premier Mr Cassel Mathale said it was great privilege for Limpopo´s residents to have a team in the PSL. "The Peter Mokaba Stadium will not be a white elephant, because many games will be played at the stadium." The premier declared himself as the "Number One Supporter" of Black Leopards. He also made a commitment that the Limpopo government will rally behind the club.

The executive mayor of Polokwane, Mr Freddy Greaver, offered Leopards an office at the Peter Mokaba Stadium. "We want to ask the team not to hire and fire coaches and that they do not embarras the people of Limpopo by losing their matches," he added.

Greaver added that they had signed an agreement with Supersport United and Kaizer Chiefs that four matches and cup matches will be played at Peter Mokaba. It was also announced that Leopards will play 11 home matches at the stadium.

During the event, Leopards introduced new seven players and displayed the new soccer kit which will be used this soccer season. The new players are Sizwe Sibiya (Alexander United), Thabo Mongalo (Supersport United), Postnet Omony (Vasco da Gama), Humphrey Khoza (Witbank Spurs), Kingston Nkatha (Platinum Stars), Nkosi Bafana Sibeko (University of Pretoria) and Abulwaheed Afolabi (Tornadoes in Malawi).
