Benny´s Care Soccer Development booked a place in the next stage of the Sir Tshiluvhu Altec Auto-page KO Competition, when they beat Gogobole Bucs 1-0 at Muduluni on Sunday, 21 August.
The score was not a true reflection of the game, as Benny´s were dictating terms in all departments throughout the game. Khuthadzo Simali combined well with James Masenya and Nhlamulo Siviti in the forefront. Simali committed a big blunder when he shot straight to Bucs’ stranded keeper, Rudzani Thagwana, in the 26th minute.
Benny´s took the lead in the 38th minute. Maduvha Matodzi caught the Bucs keeper off guard and blasted in a half volley from inside the box.
Bucs missed two clear chances early in the second half, with Tsie Nndwambi the culprit in both instances.
Benny´s utilized their substitution chances when they introduced Ishmael Khoza for Nhlamulo Siviti. Khoza added more life to the fading midfield for Benny´s with his dribbling skills. Bucs were forced to effect a change to their starting line-up when they replaced their injured defender, Lutendo Ramalivhana, with Sinugo Sikhwivhilu in the 60th minute. A midfielder of Benny´s, Lufuno Mudau, was red-carded for tackling Try Sebola from behind.
Fhatuwani Tshehisi was lucky to escape with a yellow card after tackling the Benny´s midfielder, Pfarelo Musiwa, roughly. This happened in the 70th minute. Oscar Nenguda of Bucs was red-carded for insulting the referee, Timothy Thamaha, in the 82nd minute.
Tsie Nndwambi of Bucs should have equalised two minutes before the end of the match, but he shot wide.
