Narrow victory for Tshakhuma RO United

Tshakhuma RO United collected maximum points at the expense of Itsani Double Chiefs when they beat them 1-0 at Itsani on Sunday, 11 September.

United squandered numerous scoring chances in the opening minutes. Their speedy forward, Shonisani Rambebu, was the first player to cause an upset. Instead of relaxing on the ball and trying other possible ways, Rambebu unleashed aimlessly from the edge of the box in the fourth minute.

As if what Rambebu had done was not good enough to stir up the team’s supporters, his team mate, Khathustshelo Mukomafhedzi, committed a similar blunder moments thereafter.

The boys were separated from men in the 24th minute. Nndwakhulu Mathisa forced his way through the defence of Double Chiefs and unleashed from inside the box. The keeper of Double Chiefs, Waidona Mundlovu, could not save the situation, despite stretching to the limit.

The home side introduced two new faces early in the last half. They replaced Naledzani Ralutanda and Selby Nenwali with Mashudu Mavhasa and Tshifhiwa Nethonzhe respectively. United responded by replacing Vhutshilo Nkhumeleni with Khathutshelo Mudau in the 68th minute.

United missed a fortune when Shonisani Rambebu shot wide after beating the defence. Double Chiefs tried everything within their reach in their search for the equalizer, but Lady Luck was not on their side. Their midfielder, Lucas Mundalamo, could not believe his eyes when his volley missed the target by inches.
