The Makhado Rope Skipping Club received overwhelming support from the local community, following a call for help that was published in the Limpopo Mirror. The club needed financial assistance to go to the national tournament that was held from 2 to 7 October in Cape Town. According to the chairperson of the club, Ms Tinyiko Makhubela, they received help from Renkie Building Construction, Makhado Medical Centre, Gym 4U and the Makhado Municipality and they managed to raise R30 000 for transport, catering and accommodation.The club performed very well and came back with three gold, seven silver and three bronze medals.
