Tshifhire Northern Brothers moved up on the league log when they beat Tshikota Chelsea 3-0 in their Safa Vhembe SAB match played at the Tshikota grounds on Saturday.
The match was one-way traffic from the start, with Brothers enjoying more possesion of the ball. Chelsea´s striker, Thabelo Tshikweta, had himself to blame for missing a golden opportunity with only keeper Mpfariseni Neluvhada to beat. Brothers opened the score in the 20th minute, after Tamaga Vukeya received a defence-splitting pass from Edgar Molewa, beat several defenders and the goalkeeper to score.
Chelsea fought hard to level the score, but the solid defence of Brothers led by Emmanuel Netshifhefhe kept every attempt at bay.
The visiting side was controlling the proceedings in the middle of the park, but fumbled at the goal finish. Brothers scored the second goal in the 65th minute. Their striker,Tsepo Ramaremela, and team-mate Nngidi Harvey initiated some duel moves in the middle of the park that ended in a goal. Tsepo gave the final touch to the ball.
Chelsea came close to scoring in the 69th minute, but Chester Murwanthi shot wide with only the keeper, Nthupheni Ramagoma, to beat. Brothers´ striker, Evance Mosipi, dribbled past three Chelsea defenders in a row and scored easily.
The boys from Tshikota nearly hit the target when Thabang Sithole´s volley went a little wide in the 80th minute. Chelsea midfielder Patrict Mathatha, could not live up to people´s expectations, as he was tightly marked by Tumelo Lehomo.
