After beating Rospa United 3-1 in their Vodacom Promotional League match at the Tshifulanani Stadium two weeks ago, Nobela All Stars collected more points when they beat The Dolphins 2-1 at the Malamulele Stadium on Saturday.
The Stars’ killer-striker, Thembisani Nevhulamba, was a thorn in the flesh of the defence of Dolphins. He scored a brace in the match. Nevhulamba already threatened to score in the 14th minute. He received a beautiful pass from Jomo Masena and shot wide from outside the box.
He rectified his mistake and made his presence felt in the 24th minute. He won a loose ball from the left corner and beat the Dolphins’ keeper, Joshua Kwape, with a half volley.
It took the visitors 36 minutes to fight back. Their killer-striker, Steven Nkoana, was tackled badly within the box and the referee was quick to point at the white spot. It was a clear penalty for Dolphins. Lawrence Maake made no mistake to bring the half-time score to 1-1.
The visitors introduced Joseph Serakalala and sacrificed Freddy Tlape early in the last half. The replacement proved to be a clever move on the part of their head coach, Joel Mongalo, as pressure mounted onto the defence of Stars soon afterwards. The boys were separated from men in the 78th minute. Thembisani Nevhulamba was on target again, following a neat pass from Jomo Masena. The keeper of Nobela, Harold Ndlovu, was reprimanded with a card for the application of time-wasting tricks.
