Well-known Dr Matswiki laid to rest

 

Hundreds of mourners from across Limpopo gathered at Sereni on 23 March to bid farewell to a local doctor, Dr Maropeng Shadrack Matswiki (47), who passed away on 15 March after a brief illness at his residence in Polokwane.

A colleague of his, Dr Andy Ramavhanda, was one of the speakers at the funeral. He described Matswiki as an exceptionally bright student who had consistently excelled academically during his secondary and tertiary education. He said that Matswiki had been a leader in their collective pursuit of enhanced services for their clients. Dr Ramavhanda said that Dr Matswiki's death had left the family and the wider community in shock.

In a statement on behalf of the family, Mr Peter Mugwena described Dr Matswiki as a pillar in both their household and the community. He was a source of invaluable guidance and wisdom. Dr Matswiki served selflessly and faithfully within the Zion Christian Church (ZCC), he said.
