Leopards’ top striker dreams of playing for Kaizer Chiefs

When Black Leopards’ top striker, Bethuel Muzeu, joined Lidoda Duvha about two years ago, he saw this as the starting point of his dream. According to him, his childhood dream is to play for the Soweto giants, Kaizer Chiefs. During an interview with him, the Namibian international said that although he was currently playing for a team campaigning in the Motsepe Foundation Championship League, he was confident that he would see himself wearing Kaizer Chiefs’ colours one day.

Muzeu has attracted the interest of many DStv Premiership clubs, following his superb performance during the recent African Cup of Nations (AFCON) Tournament held in Ivory Coast. Although he did not score in the tournament as expected, the value he added to his team throughout the tournament was unquestionable.

He was the creator of his team’s solitary goal when they narrowly beat Tunisia 1-0 in their group stage match, with Dion Hotto giving the ball the final touch. The 24-year-old sharpshooter said that he was delighted to see that his performance at Black Leopards had prompted his country’s national team’s head coach, Mr Collin Benjamin, to call him.

He revealed that every player’s dream was to feature in the international arena. Playing for a DStv Premiership League club or abroad would be a dream come true for him. He stressed the fact that his focus was to ensure that Black Leopards got promoted to the elite division at the end of the current season, expressing confidence that Leopards were still on course for promotion.

Muzeu was born on 22 February 2000 in a small town called Gobabis in Namibia. For the time being, he is very content with his stay at Black Leopards. Muzeu is the current top goal scorer in the Motsepe Foundation Championship League with 11 goals.

The chairman of Black Leopards, Mr. Tshifhiwa Thidiela, said that the club did not stand in the way of players. He revealed that Lidoda Duvha had produced many players who were plying their trade in DStv Premiership League sides over the past year and that Muzeu could not be an exception, provided that the proper channels were followed.
