GIYANI - The Giyani police have opened an inquest docket after an incident on Freedom Day, when the 16-year-old Nancy Shithlangu passed away at Ngove Village.
She died on the way to the clinic after starting to vomit a whitish fluid. Nancy left home with her friends to collect firewood at a nearby bush. To the surprise of her friends the deceased suddenly collapsed and started vomiting.
Her friends informed her family, who rushed her to the clinic, but she was pronounced dead on arrival. Her family suspects that she might have eaten contaminated food.
The spokesperson for the Giyani Police, Insp Hasani Mabaso confirmed that an inquest docket has been opened to determine the cause of her death. Medical experts will conduct a post-mortem soon.
