The Makhado Local Football Association (Malfa) received a financial boost in the form of a R50 000 sponsorship from Africa Hardware in Louis Trichardt.

The sponsorship was presented at Louis Trichardt on Tuesday morning. The president of Malfa, Mr Takalani Maphaha, revealed that the association had run the league without a sponsor for many years. According to Maphaha, they worked hard to approach possible good Samaritans to pull them out of their financial dilemma.

The only business that responded positively to their request was Africa Hardware, who offered to sponsor the league´s knock-out competition. It was also announced that 120 teams from Sinthumule/Kutama, Hlanganani, Vuwani and the Nzhelele area will participate in the knock-out.

The manager of Africa Hardware, Mr Faizul Tayob, indicated that his company had an open-door policy in as far as assisting the needy was concerned. He stated that the firm believed in ploughing back a portion of its profit into the community which was backing them.

Tayob reiterated that the sponsorship will increase with time, saying that this was the beginning of a longlasting relationship.
