Madombidzha Arsenal received three valuable league points when they beat Tshiozwi Dynamos 2-1 in their Safa Vhembe SAB league at Madombidzha on Sunday.
The visitors missed two easy opportunities in the first 10 minutes of the match. The players who made the Dynamos fans jump up from their seats in disbelief were Aluwani Nedzamba and Mpho Mavhandu. Ritshidze Matodzi of Arsenal caused a real upset when his shot hit the upright and bounced back into the field of play, with the keeper of Dynamos, Marvel Mauda, well beaten.
Mbengeni Rambuwani beat three defenders in a row before he sent the keeper the wrong way to make the score 1-0 in favour of Asernal. A moment later, Tshilidzi Sithari headed home his team's second goal from a corner kick, taken by Dakalo Nwanamidwa.
Londy Musiamo brought down Aluwani Nedzamba inside the penalty area and the referee awarded a penalty, which Nyathi Muvhango converted.
The home team abused countless scoring opportunities in the last 15 minutes of the first half. Rendani Sithodo unleashed prematurely, instead of moving a few steps towards keeper Marvel Mauda.
Dynamos introduced Mashudu Nengovhela for Matodzi Maruli in the second half. The replacement did not change the complexion of the game, as the home team continue to fight fiercely.
Vhutshilo Mafunisa of Dynamos and Rendani Sithodo of Arsenal were red-carded for arguing with the referee.
Kaizer Nengovhela started writing stories for Limpopo Mirror in 2000. Prior to that he had a five year stint at Phala-Phala FM as sports presenter. In 2005 Kaizer received an award from the province's premier as Best Sports Presenter. The same year he was also nominated as Best Sports Reporter by the Makhado Municipality. Kaizer was awarded the Mathatha Tsedu award in 2014.
