It was a weekend of mixed fortunes for Tshakhuma RO United. They beat Makovha All Stars 4-0 in their Vhembe Promotional Knockout match at the Tshifulanani Stadium on Saturday, but they were booted out of the competition the following day, when Tshifhire Northern Brothers beat them 3-2 at the Makwarela Stadium.
Their match on Saturday against All Stars was a balanced affair for the first 45 minutes. United made their intentions clear from the first whistle. What should have been their opening goal turned into a nightmare. Khathutshelo Mudau scored with a bicycle kick from the edge of the penalty box in the 10th minute, but the goal was disallowed because Mudau had handled the ball before unleashing. United scored a legitimate goal in the 24th minute, however, when Mudau scored from the corner.
Tshakhuma RO United increased the margin seven minutes into the last half. Mudau received a neat pass from Lufuno Mugodi and beat the keeper with a volley. Mudau was cautioned with a card for taking off his jersey while celebrating his goal. United scored his team's third goal via Victor Makhaukhau. He hooked in a loose ball, following a scramble in the box. Mugodi scored his team’s fourth goal in the dying minutes.
