The sport stars and best acacemic performers of Benny's Care Sports Academy received awards for their achievements during a ceremony at Tshiozwi a fortnight ago.
"Sport is an important vehicle to cause harmonious interaction between people," said the guest speaker and former Soutpansberg West circuit manager of education, Mr Johaness Ramuedzisi. He added that he was proud of the quality of sports development that was taking place at Benny's Care.
He indicated that all the youths must involve themselves in different sporting codes. Sport and education are the key to the future of our youth, he said. He requested the youth to stay away from crime and alcohol and be aware of the threat of HIV/Aids.
He also urged teachers to work very hard and to further their studies. “Teachers should be proud of their profession and the work they are doing in order to restore the dignity of their profession,” he said.
Kaizer Nengovhela started writing stories for Limpopo Mirror in 2000. Prior to that he had a five year stint at Phala-Phala FM as sports presenter. In 2005 Kaizer received an award from the province's premier as Best Sports Presenter. The same year he was also nominated as Best Sports Reporter by the Makhado Municipality. Kaizer was awarded the Mathatha Tsedu award in 2014.
