The ATM, situated inside the Shoprite U Save complex at Mukula, was damaged after robbers gained entry through the roof. The incident happened in the early morning hours. Mr Thizwiiti Tshipani, the manager of the store, said that he received a call after midnight that there might be people in the shop. He said he rushed there, finding that the police were already present. "I opened the shop, only to find that the ATM that is housed in our shop had been blown up and some cash was scattered around the machine," said Tshipani. Major Mashudu Malelo, the Thohoyandou police spokesperson, confirmed the incident and said they had opened a burglary case. "We are appealing to whoever might have information to please contact us, so that we can crack this case. All information will be treated in the strictest confidence and no one's identity will be revealed," said Malelo. In the photo, the shop manager, Mr Thizwiiti Tshipani, is assessing the damage.
