Makhado show just around the corner

 

It’s all systems go for the Makhado Annual Show 2012, which takes place from 26 to 28 July. According to Makoya Multi Media, the organizers of the show, progress has been made and a lot has been taken into consideration with respect to making sure that the show becomes a family event with lots of entertainment for all.

For the young at heart there are activities like the merry go-round, big swing, big wheel, flying horses, tilt-a-world, tornado, motorbikes, hally galley, bumper cars, car drifting (magusheshe) and many more. "Makoya Multi Media has made a huge run in terms of making sure that the event is of the highest standard," said Makoya Multi Media Managing Director Mr Hangwe Netshifhefhe.

He said that his company would make sure that security was tight at this big event, so that everyone could enjoy themselves without any disturbances. "This year’s event is crafted to create a platform for both entrepreneurs and the roleplayers of this town to come together and make this economy a viable tool," he said.

Among the exhibitors are government institutions - such as the premier's office, Limdev, the Dept of Agriculture, Limpopo Tourism, the Vhembe District Municipality - and many more. The list also includes exhibitors from the private sector.

Netshifhefhe said that 2012's show was going to be a memorable event. "The show, among others, will feature a 'thunderous' grand opening march, which will begin at the municipal parking lot, where the mayor, Cllr David Mutavhatsindi, will be escorted by the SAPS brass band and drum majorettes into Krogh Street, down to the information centre. At the show grounds, he will cut a ribbon to open the event officially," said Netshifhefhe.

In terms of artists, the show features the finest cream of them all. The list includes international and local artists such as of Nick Holder, Donald, Colbert Mukwevho, Malondolo, Mizo and Cornerstone.
