The Premier Soccer League Dispute Resolution Chamber (DRC) has ordered the head coach of Black Leopards, Mr Vladislav Heric, to pay his former club, African Warriors, R320 000 for breach of contract.
Heric left the Free State-based National First Division side for Black Leopards at the end of October last year. His departure did not go down well with the chairman of Warriors, Mr Jabu Khumalo. Khumalo accused Heric of handling his movement to Lidoda Duvha in an unprofessional manner.
Heric did not look back, despite all efforts by Khumalo to retain him. Realising that he was chasing a “wild goose”, Khumalo decided to take up the matter through his legal advisors. During its sitting last Thursday, the Dispute Resolution Chamber found Heric guilty of breach of contract. The DRC found that Heric’s contract with Warriors was going to expire at the end of May this year.
The R320 000 which Heric has been ordered to pay his former employer within 30 days is the value of the remaining part of his contract with Warriors.
Heric is still battling to find a winning combination since he joined the Limpopo side three months ago.
Heric declined to comment on the DRC ruling. He guided Black Leopards for two seasons before moving to African Warriors. Leopards have won only one match under the guidance of Heric. They beat Amazulu 1-0 at the Moses Mabida Stadium in Durban in November.
Leopards are now rooted at the bottom of the log, with 10 points accumulated from 16 matches (Wednesday's match against Bloemfontein Celtic not included).
