R1 million sponsorship for Dynamos

POLOKWANE - The struggling PSL team, the Giyani based Dynamos, received a sponsorship of R1 million from Admiral Sportswear during a function at the SABC Auditorium in Polokwane on Wednesday.

Members of the media, players, officials and other guests attended the launching of the new sponsor. The CEO of the team, Mr Mxolisi Zwane, stated that it was a smart move for Admiral to sponsor Dynamos and said that the sponsor will boost the moral of the players in the Dynamos family. Zwane said that they signed two years contract with Admiral and further indicates that since the Giyani team was promoted to the elite league the past years, they struggled to get a sponsor.

Now the sponsor came at the right time when are our players are sharp," said Zwane. He promised the club's supporters that the team will play high quality football at the Giyani Stadium on Sunday, when the team will play against Zulu Royals. "We will avoid the relegation ghost, who is knocking on our door," he said.

Admiral sponsors the team with sports wear, training kit, travelling and leisurewear. The marketing manager of Admiral, Mrs Laura Coetzee, said that her company started to sponsor soccer since 1914 in England and also sponsor the England national team, Tottenham Hotspurs, Leeds United, Glasgo Rangers. In 2003 Admiral was the technical sponsor of the South Africa Cricket team and tour of England and the present West Indies team is playing in their new range of clothing.

Coetzee said Admiral decided to be the technical sponsor of Dynamos and as the company "we see the need to sponsor a struggling team such as Dynamos and hope the Dynamos players will be motivated." She further indicated that the technical sponsorship would serve for two years. One of the veteran players of the Dynamos team, Josam Ndou, welcomed the sponsorship and said that the new sponsor will motivate players and management in all departments.
