PHILIYAMAVU – An argument that erupted after a drinking spree at the Philiyamavu Bar Lounge last Saturday, led a 27-year-old man to the Thohoyandou police holding cells after he had allegedly stabbed another man.

According to a police statement, the late Rofhiwa Ndou Magwaba(18) died instantly after he was stabbed in the chest with a knife at about 20:50 last Saturday at Philiyamavu Bar Lounge. It is alleged that, when a heated argument ensued, the arrested suspect stabbed the deceased once in the chest. The suspect is expected to appear in the Thohoyandou Magistrate’s Court soon.

In a separate incident, the Vuwani police are still searching for the man who stabbed a 21-year-old man all over his body until he died. The incident took place on Monday at about 20:00 at Dwerani village.

According to the police, the suspect arrived at his girlfriend's kraal and found her in the presence of Thivhulawi Mafela. After complaining and accusing the deceased of being in love with his child’s mother, he allegedly stabbed Mafela eight times all over his body until he died. As the known suspect is still at large, a murder case has been opened at the Vuwani police station.
