HA-MASAKONA – Chief Cecil Masakona was installed as the new Chief for Masakona during a ceremony held at the Masakona Tribal Council premises last Friday.

During the ceremony, Chief Toni Mphephu Ramabulana advised the new Chief to work for the people and to support the government. He must also work hand in hand with the councillors, the community and other Chiefs.

The new Chief's predecessor, Mr MS Masakona said he was happy to give back the throne to the rightful person. He also said that the new Chief would succeed in leading the community. He appealed to all headmen to help him in this task.

Thovhele Toni Mphephu Ramabulana conducted the installation. The new Chief's Ndumi is Mr Ndzudzeni Masakona Rasikhuthuma and his Khadzi is Ms Tshililo Rosina Magoro.

The MEC in the Premier's Office, Ms Catherine Mabuza said they were going to work closely with the new Chief and his subordinates. She also praised the former Chief Masakona for handing over the throne peacefully.
