MMK knock-out to be launched soon

THOHOYANDOU – The Northern Province East Regional Football Association will soon launch a prestigious KO Competition.

According to a statement released by the association early this week, the competition will be known as MMK Insurance KO Competition.

The competition is sponsored by MMK Insurance Company to the tune of R80 000. According to the statement, eighty Solly's League teams, that are campaigning in the five streams, will compete among themselves in the preliminary rounds, to produce ten teams that will represent them in the last 32 stage of the competition.

The 18 teams that play under the banner of the Castle Regional League will also play one another until the last eight teams remain. The eight teams will represent the division in the last 32 stage of the competition.

The 16 district football associations are expected to produce 14 teams that will join the 18 from Solly's and Castle Regional League to bring the number to 32.

According to the statement, the District Football Associations are expected to confirm the names of their overall winners with their mother body, SAFA-NPER by no later than June 18.

Nkuri United Brothers will represent the Vuwani Stream of the MMK District Football Association.

The toss to determine the preliminary rounds and top 32 fixtures will according to the statement be conducted at Netshimbupfe Conference hall on June 9, starting at 09:00. Only teams that will manage to reach the last 16 stage of the competition will receive the prizes.
