About The Annual GUMBA-FIRE
The ANNUAL GUMBA-FIRE is a music extravaganza that takes place every December in Thohoyandou within the Vhembe District area in Limpopo Province. While it initially targeted youth within the Thulamela area, it has recently attracted the attention of a wider and more diverse market, with its geographic reach extending to other major towns/cities within Limpopo Province and beyond (e.g. Gauteng, North West, Mpumalanga, etc), more especially your Limpopo expatriates based in various centres around South Africa for the better part of the year.
It has identified as core tenets of its mission, the promotion of tourism within the Vhembe District area, with deep house music (& other popular genres) and entertainment as the main conduit; and facilitating interaction and collaboration between local performers/artists and well established names from other parts of South Africa and beyond. Strong emphasis is, in the spirit of this event, placed on having [responsible] fun.
The ANNUAL GUMBA-FIRE is targeted at young people (18-35) who’s longing for a serene and safe environment while savouring their preferred popular music (in all its eclectic forms) - an often neglected service within this area. Its core target market is therefore your typical upwardly mobile youth with an insatiable appetite for the finer things in life. It is a perfect platform for them to let it all out after a long hard year.
The ANNUAL GUMBA-FIRE can confidently lay claim to being a trendsetter as well as the oldest, most sustainable and widely known paid-up house music (& and other popular genres) annual event within the Vhembe District. The ANNUAL GUMBA-FIRE brand has indeed grown in stature and has managed to engrain itself as the most popular and sought after event to be seen at and perform at around the far-north region of the Limpopo Province.
The event has over its past 13 years been graced by various top performers both nationally and internationally, among them the following:

At the 13th ANNUAL GUMBA-FIRE 2011 expect the best of 3 international (e.g. Jesus Gonsev from Spain) and 2 National Djs with a mix of the hottest live house music performances from some of SA’s hottest Groups.
