A 22-year-old woman from Nancefield in Musina was raped several times by three knife-wielding men while her brother watched helplessly. They then robbed her of R27 and a cellphone, police have said.

A member of 15 SAI Battalion of the South African Defence Force, Rfn Meshack Kharivhe (35), appeared in the Thohoyandou Magistrate´s Court on Monday on four charges of murder. He allegedly went berserk on Saturday evening and mercilessly bludgeoned his wife and three children to death with a spade.

Inwoners het die afgelope naweek vir die soveelste keer sonder water gesit, nadat ‘n werknemer van die munisipaliteit na bewering ‘n oordeelsfout begaan het en ‘n toevoerkraan te vinnig oopgedraai het. Die gevolg was dat die pypleiding nie die vinnige druktoename kon hanteer nie, wat ‘n pyp laat bars het.

“Moratorium on development will remain”

At a meeting of the Makhado municipal council held on March 31 two items dealing with an earlier decision taken by the executive committee (Exco) of Council not to allow any new property development to take place in town were removed. This would seem to indicate that no moratorium on new property developments exists until Council has endorsed it.

Council approve cent in the rand value to calculate new property rates

The new taxation rates on property have been determined and were accepted by the Makhado municipal council at their meeting on March 31. Taxpayers will now be able to do their own calculations in this regard to make sure they are not being overtaxed.
